University degree in law and political science from the Pázmány Péter
University (1949), and in social science at the Eötvös Loránd
University (1957). Gained arbitration practice at the Court of
Arbitration organised beside the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and
Industry. Main specialist fields are private law, company law,
insurance law, damages, competition (cartel) law, intellectual
properties law. He gained his expert knowledge on insurance law (and in
litigation) through his long period as Chief Legal Adviser and Managing
Director with the Hungarian State Insurance Company as well as being
the first Chairman of the State Insurance Supervisory Body in Hungary,
in international commercial law being the Chief Legal Adviser for years
of the biggest Hungarian foreign trade company and its representative
also abroad. Honorary associate lecturer at the university, invited
lecturer at the Institute of Post-graduate Legal Studies of Eötvös
Loránd University. He is Honorary Chairman of the AIDA (the
International Association for Insurance Law), chairman of the Hungarian
section of AIDA (the Insurance Law Section of the Hungarian Legal
Association). Member of the professional board of the Italian magazine
Assicurazioni and of the editorial board of "Insurance Law Review";
honorary PIA member and member of the Legal Board of the Hungarian
Autoclub. Author of several legal articles and commentaries, active
participant in codification of several laws and regulations. Partner of
Bárd, Cseri & Partners Attorney at Law (its predecessor Eörsi &
Partners Attorney at Law) since 1989. Main language skills are in German, English (passive French and Italian).
