We form new companies and joint ventures for foreign and domestic clients. We also represent numerous large and medium-sized domestic companies, and have dealt with their Company Law needs since their foundation. Our office deals with issues involving reformations (mergers, spin-offs, etc.), as well as company restructuring with which we deal on a daily basis.

competition law

Our office represents a wide range of international clients in proceedings before the Competition Authority, of which the majority involve concentration (take over). We have also achieved significant experience in Cartel issues, unfair competition, advertising and consumer defense issues. Our attorneys are continually updated on modifications or changes to EU law or practice in this area.

complex due diligence

Our office has acquired significant experience both in normal company purchase and sale, and in the case of due diligence required for real estate project purchases. As a part of the due diligence process we review a company's documentation concerning Company Law, Employment Law, loans, the entire contractual documentation and other steps in acccordance with international standards.

Our office prepares contracts for domestic and international companies in most areas concerning their business (industrial, construction, commercial businesses), as well as representing those clients in contractual disputes.

copyright / protection of intangibles

Our office has acquired experience in representing the rights of software companies to protect their products, as well as neighbouring rights. Special technical training for our colleagues, as well as continuous training to update them makes it possible for us to take on ever larger challenges in this legal area.

employment law

As a part of our general services for clients we also deal with employer's legal needs vis a vis their employee.

Our colleagues have overview in dealing with projects related to credit banks and securities dealers with an insight to the operations of authorities. We provide services with legal advice in the area of credit, financial and securities.

insurance law

Our activities in this area cover the entire spectrum of insurance law. We give advice to insurance companies as well as insurance agents, as well as representing such clients in matter of litigation. Colleagues of our office also took part in the preparatory legal work to the Hungarian Insurance Law modifications, as well as university lecturing in insurance law. Some of our colleagues are also members of Hungarian and international insurance organizations.

intellectual property law / trademarks

Our office deals chiefly with the registration of copyrights/trademarks, as well as their defense before the courts and Trademark Office. In addition we have achieved significant experience in international registration, as well as legal coordination with other legal offices involved in such international registration.

Our firm's leader, Dr. Bárd Károly, is a member of the Permanent Dispute Resolution Court, which serves as an arm of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, our office represents clients in significant legal issues before both the courts and the chamber.

Our office is involved in advising and representing international and multinational companies concerning their Hungarian investments and competition law.

real estate development, construction law, real estate law and project finance

Our office presently performs complete legal services for new apartment projects, industrial parks, logistic centers, condominiums, office buildings, greenfield investments, commercial buildings, infrastructure and road project developments. Real estate sale and purchase agreements, legal opinions, proceedings before the Land Registry Office, representation at local municipalities concerning construction and usage permits, representation before technical permitting authorities, preparation of general contracting agreements and project finance agreements, preparation of architectural agreements and representation before the architects, preparation of escrow, as well as the foundation of project companies.

tax law

Our office gives advice with the inclusion of permanenent experts in the areas of project finance as well as the tax planning of other business dealings. In the cases of disagreement our attorneys represent clients in front of the Tax Authority or, in the case of litigation involving tax issues, we represent clients in court.

Our office has significant experience representing major telecommunications companies, which extend from the time of the initial government concessions, to the foundation of the new telecommunication companies, through the changing legal climate during the telecommunication liberalization.
